The video on the top popped up from a year ago today and I decided to try out the exact same workout today💪 . You CANNOT compare your journey to anyone else's but your OWN. The moment you start focusing on what everyone else is doing and compare (aka compete) with others...you lose sight of your own goals and wander off YOUR path. It's he quickest path to failure and it will steal all your joy from your own journey. . If I would have compared the me in that top video, to someone else's journey...someone who hadn't gained 80lbs during pregnancy...someone who didn't still have 40-50lbs to lose postpartum at more than 4 months postpartum. Someone who wasn't ME and had the struggles I was dealing with...
I would have QUIT. I would have felt discouraged. I would have been cheating myself. . Trust me, there were days I looked around me and wanted to throw in the towel. Seeing people "bounce back" almost effortlessly right after giving birth...comparing to the incomparable. But I always readjusted my focus back on MY journey. My story. I was holding the pen. No one else. . There will be days where you want to quit...days where you feel defeated. Days where it feels impossible. But I can promise to you, like I did to myself...if you just keep going...you'll get there. And it will ALL be worth it. I'm so freaking proud of myself for not quitting on those toughest days. I'm stronger than I've ever been because of MY story I'm writing. Not someone else's. Keep your eyes on your own paper 📝 Don't cheat...yourself. ... See MoreSee Less
At 9 weeks, baby boy or baby girl, are trying to peek out more 😉 I want to share video workouts of my growing belly showing because I think it's so important to see a real body in transition! I showed that transition from my 80lb weight loss down and I plan to share my pregnancy #2 journey the same, wherever that takes us 💪
As I posted earlier, I can feel and see a little more squishy! I am embracing the heck out of that! That squish is providing fat, fluid and my body producing 50% more blood volume to the baby! That's incredible! I mean really! So, when I feel the squish or see some things jiggling around while I workout, I'm embracing that beautiful transition ❤️
Ladies new to pregnancy - I DIDN'T embrace the squish my first time around! I kinda freaked out about it 😭 I didn't quite understand what my body was doing on the inside! All I saw was the quick changes happening on the outside. I equated that beautiful and nourishing "squish" to worrying like I looked as if I ate too much over Thanksgiving 😂 You know the "they don't know you're pregnant yet" stage so you worry everyone thinks you're just storing some food for winter 😉
The squish is NORMAL! 🐟 (Anyone else picturing finding nemo with all the squish references 😂)
Once I realized everything my new "squish" was doing to create a miracle, it made me appreciate that squishy feeling more! Don't worry about people thinking you ate too much, your pants feeling a little more muffin-toppy with a little more squish 😉 I promise they're staring at your beautiful glow and joyous smile 🙏 oh and tie a hait tie around your unbuttoned pants for comfort 🙏 Love your squish ❤️🙏 ... It's getting harder to "suck in" this little bump 😂🤰I can definitely tell my body is changing at 9 weeks! I'm feeling more squishy, which is just my body storing some extra fat, fluid and blood for baby 🙂 Did you know mommas produce 50% more of their blood volume during pregnancy for baby!? Pretty awesome!
First time around - I was freaking out about every little thing. This time...I just feel calm! Knowing what your body is actually going through on the insides day by day, really helps appreciate the outward changes instead of worrying about it 🙏 I like my squishy ❤️💪🤰🤓 and...Just like I talked about on my live call last night, when those "abs" disappear, you have to be happy with what you see in the mirror. YOU. My pregnancy with Theo forced me to do that. Something I hadn't been forced to do before. To fall in love with ME. Not how I looked. So now, I embrace those changes so much differently! No doubt the less worry, stress about changes has helped me not gain as much as I did in the first months with Theo.
Got my strengthening workout done during Theo's nap! I've noticed doing my workout early helps with my nausea, helps keep my migraines from coming and keeps my energy up!
Did you know exercise diverts blood from your stomach, alleviating nausea 🤓 It might sound crazy but I have definitely noticed it helps this time around! Last pregnancy? I avoided moving at all costs, thinking it would make it worse! Little did I know that laying around in bed was actually what was making it even worse 🤢 Even a 10 minute walk can help!
Taking one day at a time 💪 and doing the best I can each day to keep the growing baby and mommy healthy! Not every day is great this first trimester, but still much better than my first pregnancy and doing new things now I didn't do then that I wish I would have to hopefully enjoy this pregnancy more 🙏
Ps: I decided to look up my 8 week pic with Theo 😳 Check the comments ... See MoreSee Less
One of my secrets to fighting off morning sickness = Chia "Oatmeal"!
2 tbsp chia seeds 2 tbsp flaxseed 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 packet stevia or 1 tsp honey 🍯 Dash of cinnamon Optional: 1-2 tsp grass-fed butter We top with fruit or even some peanut butter
Mix all ingredients in saucepan over medium heat just until mixed together and thickened then remove from heat and eat!
Chia pudding is one of my favorites, especially during pregnancy! It has really helped me get some quick, tasty fuel in the morning, keep me full for hours and keep my morning sickness tamed! It helps that Theo also loves this recipe!
What's so great about chia seeds?
Just TWO tablespoons of chia seeds contain: 🌱100% more omega-3s than salmon 🌱3x more antioxidants than blueberries 🌱3x more iron than spinach 🌱64% more potassium than a banana 🌱5x more calcium than milk 🌱20% protein 🌱32% of your daily magnesium which is 15x more than broccoli contains! 🌱41% of your daily fiber
Highlighting all the perks of some of my healthy foods, helps me appreciate them SO much more and actually CRAVE them for their nutrients! It might sound silly, but it works for me! When I have a donut in my face and some chia seeds on the counter, I honestly WANT the chia seeds because I know what they do for my body (and growing baby) vs. a donut! ... See MoreSee Less
